Throughout his days, Mr. Won became increasingly aware of the problems of the world and its people, and dedicated his life to helping those less fortunate than he, while maintaining an honorable stewardship of the earth and her natural resources.
On May 12, 1981, a small grocery store opened in Seoul under the name “Pulmuone Organic Produce Farm Shop. ”This shop, where organic produce from Mr. Won Kyung-sun’s Pulmuone Farm was sold, was Korea’s first organic food store and the birthplace of the Pulmuone Company. Although small, the opening of this shop heralded the launch of a business that was to introduce and expand the importance and values of organic farming across Korea.
Since those humble beginnings, Pulmuone has become one of the most respected companies in Korea as well as a global example of a LOHAS company that seeks to promote beautiful harmony between people and the earth.
Established in May 1984, Pulmuone Foods positioned itself as a ‘wholesome foods’ company by being the first company to sell packaged tofu/sprouts products in Korea. The company has made and sold more than 700 wholesome food products in a range of categories, such as tofu (from conventional water-packed tofu to ready-to-serve pre-marinated and pre-baked), bean sprouts, animal welfare-certified eggs, natto (fermented soybeans), and a wide variety of authentic and delicious Asian-inspired foods, including Asian-style dumplings, noodle bowls, low-carb noodles, wraps and more.
To respond to the growing consumer needs for convenient, accessible food products, Pulmuone’s wholesome food offerings have recently taken expanded with the launch of diverse and nutritionally balanced ready-meal products.
